Reclaim Community Collaborative Design Organization Inc.

The Reclaim Community Collaborative Design Organization Inc. (Reclaim Community CDO), lead by Hillary King, is a social enterprise aiming to address Canada’s housing crisis by promoting Community-Led Housing (CLH) through the CLH Ecosystem Support Network (CLH-ESN).

In 2024, Reclaim Community CDO was one of the awardees of the UArctic Entrepreneurship Fund, receiving $5000 to continue their work. The fund supports the development of incubator stage services and products and was created to highlight and advance innovative and inspiring entrepreneurial ideas focused on the North.

Reclaim currently offers consulting services and mentorship in project management, policy and governance, human-centered design, and financial modelling for community-led housing projects.  Reclaim focuses on knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and supporting citizen developers to create affordable, community-driven housing solutions.

Reclaim’s initiative supports northern communities in creating housing that meets unique local needs. They take into account the challenges faced by citizen developers, such as longer project timelines, higher costs, and frequent burnout, which often result in low success rates. To address these issues, the organization’s CLH-ESN connects housing experts with over 260 toolkit items, consulting partners, and education services.
