With headquarters in Fairbanks, Alaska, UArctic Foundation US partners with the University of the Arctic (UArctic) to build capacity in the North. Since 2019 we’ve been partnering with donors to provide funding for Arctic research, students, startups, fellowships, and more.
UArctic is the world’s largest network of universities, colleges, institutes, and community organizations concerned with education and research in and about the North. It is headquartered in Rovaniemi, Finland with staff members from all parts of the Arctic. With over 200 international member institutions, UArctic makes connections between Arctic experts to form world-changing research and innovations.
Together, we are able to connect the Arctic through research, engineering, innovation, problem solving, and community building.
Our Impact
The UArctic Entrepreneurship Fund
UArctic Foundation US is partnered with the UArctic Thematic Network on Managing Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in the North to provide seed funds to individuals with Arctic innovations. With support from Michael Carey, we host an annual application to help incubator-stage projects take flight.
The call is open to any individual product or service that aims to benefit the Arctic environment or Arctic communities and has a positive, demonstrable impact.
