Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is an investment account that is set up for the sole purpose of supporting charities.
If you would like to donate directly from a donor-advised fund, please contact us by phone or email.

Donating From a Retirement Account (IRA)

If you’re over the age of 70.5, and you have an IRA, it may be taxwise for you to make a donation directly from your IRA, with a charitable rollover; also known as the qualified charitable distribution (QCD).

Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) are minimum annual withdrawals that must be taken from traditional IRAs and most retirement plans once you reach age 73 but can be withdrawn as early as 70.5. Failure to take out the full amount can result in a 25% tax penalty. QCDs can be withdrawn directly as part of an annual RMD.

However, please consult with your tax advisor to determine if this method of giving is right for you.

To make a gift from your IRA, please contact us by phone or email.

Supporting Arctic Innovations and Solutions

Living and working in the extreme conditions of the Arctic requires ingenuity, creative problem solving, and collaboration. By supporting the UArctic Foundation (US), you can make a difference in initiatives that are led by the Arctic, for the Arctic. Donations make it possible for novel ideas to take root, students to travel between Arctic nations, researchers to collaborate, innovators to bring new solutions to the table, and more.

UArctic projects are unlike traditional research within existing university structures. UArctic fosters professional networks creating flexible, wholistic, and inclusive research plans. Under the UArctic umbrella, experts can pursue inter- and multidisciplinary programs, strengthening their work through collaboration.

For US taxpayers, your donations to UArctic Foundation US (a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit) are eligible as tax deductions from a charitable contribution.
